Tradewind are recruiting! Are you an experienced school science technician looking for a new role in Trafford, Manchester?

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a talented science technician to join a successful grammar school in Trafford from September 2024.

This is a temporary science technician role to cover a sickness absence.

The Role

Full time school science technician

Monday to Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm

Duties include :-

Maintaining equipment.

Constructing and modifying apparatus.

Setting up experiments.

taking an active part in laboratory demonstrations.

Ordering resources and keeping budgets.

Helping in practical classes.

Giving technical help to pupils and students.

Always meeting current health and safety standards.

A science degree combined with a COSHH qualification for science technicians is required

Many students go on to study chemistry and sciences at university.

To join us and be successful in this secondary science technician role, you will need to:

  • a degree in science plus a COSHH Science technician qualification
  • 6 weeks' experience of working in a school or college with children aged 11- 18 as science technician or support assistant or teacher supported by references.
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full time in the UK
