A commercial portfolio underwriter is required by a market leading organisation.
Your role will be to work closely with the BDM's and Trading Underwriters to identify brokers where a commercial insurance scheme may be developed as well as possible rollover opportunities. Once an opportunity is identified, your role is to work closely with the broker to design and implement the scheme including putting in place the delegated authority parameters.
Thereafter, you will take underwriting referrals when they fall out of the delegated terms, as well as conduct portfolio MI analysis is to assess pricing and loss ratio's. In addition, you will manage regular review meetings with the broker to ascertain the success of the scheme and rectify problems and identify area's of improvement.
In addition, there are also pre-existing schemes and binder agreements to take over from the Underwriting Manager and Senior Underwriters,
In order to be considered for this rare role, solid commercial underwriting experience is required, ideally within a schemes / wholesale environment. In addition, the successful candidate must be comfortable trading and negotiating with brokers on a face to face basis.
