Job Description

Job Title: Sales Support Manager

Department: Commercial Operations, McLaren Automotive (based in Woking, UK)

Reporting to: Commercial Operations Manager

Purpose of the Role:

The Sales Support Manager is the central point of contact for the Region Teams and Retailers throughout the entire vehicle sales process, from initial order scheduling, through to invoicing and finally export and delivery of our vehicles to one of our subsidiary companies, a retailer or customer. The Sales Support Manager must manage the entire end to end sales processes to ensure we efficiently and effectively deliver our ambitious wholesale and retail targets.

Primary areas of activity:

  • Provide segment leading levels of customer service to our Retailers, Regions and the wider business to ensure end to end sales processes are effectively managed within clearly defined service level agreements
  • Support the production allocation fill process by Region to ensure Retailers achieve on-time delivery of orders and signed off McLaren Special Operations (MSO) specification within clearly defined order deadlines, giving production a consistent supply of buildable and saleable vehicles
  • Support MSO to clarify bespoke customer requests via the Retailers and ensure all requests are signed off in a timely manner, whilst monitoring customer specific order content and managing Retailer expectations
  • Manage the invoice and document creation and distribution process by Region and financial clearances are gained in a timely manner in line with monthly wholesale requirements to ensure vehicles leave Woking within set KPI’s
  • Support the administration of non-standard orders including White Space direct sales, factory collections, VIP, shareholder and affinity partner sales
  • Gain complete awareness of Regional aged stock and support Regional and Central teams to ensure Central, Regional and Retailer stock is kept within defined limits, measured against strict KPI’s
  • Support new Retailer and market setup for Sales Ordering and Revenue Recognition processes
  • Support ongoing development of SAP processes
  • Participate in the reporting on key metrics and performance indicators and continually challenge existing processes and methodology

Principal Accountabilities:

Manage the end to end processes and KPI’s from Order to Wholesale and Revenue Recognition including:

  • Order management - covering order scheduling, order change management and controls
  • Non-standard order management (e.g. McLaren Special Operations, VIPs and shareholder orders)
  • Support the prioritisation of customer orders
  • Invoice generation accuracy - both intercompany and wholesale
  • Liaise closely with Regional and Central Finance teams on vehicle payments and release
  • Distribution and transport method co-ordination with Logistics teams
  • Achievement of Wholesale target and corresponding Revenue Recognition completion on a monthly basis
  • Completion of all relevant commercial documentation.
  • Support export and import commercial processes
  • Provide registration documentation where required
  • Manage day to day operational and system requirements to achieve Retail and Registration targets

Relevant Education, Knowledge and Experience:

Education:

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience

Experience:

An automotive operational background is essential, but more than that, this person will have a natural love for, and curiosity about, cars, the automotive market place and future trends

The person appointed to this role will have:

  • Automotive operational background
  • Previous experience of:
  • Delivering a monthly wholesale target
  • International commercial operations
  • Invoice templates and data accuracy to support import and customs clearance
  • Product Management and Pricing is desirable
  • Business Systems including SAP
  • A proactive nature with a willingness to succeed
  • A winning mentality - demonstrates great drive to achieve outstanding results
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to build insight from that data
  • Knowledge of low volume, high end vehicle commercial processes is desirable
  • Resilient and adaptable; able to maintain a consistently high level of work and professional output in times of change
  • Fluent English. An additional language is an advantage in this global role
  • PC and Microsoft Office Literate. Highly competent in PowerPoint and Excel
