Key functions of Sales Manager

    • Create and deliver a yearly sales strategy for the team, including pricing and target structure of stand space, catalogue sales, delegate badges and sponsorship.
    • Support, develop and motivate the sales team to hit regular targets for the show and attend regular sales calls and meetings locally or abroad to maintain good relationships with clients or develop new ones where required.
    • Accurately forecast and report to the Head of Sales and Event Director, plus company wide updates.
    • Responsible for the overall quality of attendees at the show to ensure that the company type and seniority is aligned to the company values.
    • Ensure the sales team hunts down the most innovative, fresh and experiential high-end travel companies from around the world.
    • Maintain existing and develop new customer relationships, internal and external stakeholders through face-to-face meetings and attending industry events. Support the sales team in doing this too.
    • To engage in discussions with the industry to obtain accurate information about their buyer requirements and share this information on a regular basis with the team.
    • Keep up to date with the trends in the travel industry, new openings, what’s hot and what’s not, through research and networking and having a keen interest in travel.
    • Oversee the online system on the supplier side to facilitate on-line registrations, appointment matching and checking that all badges and signage are printed correctly.
    • Responsible for managing the sales team and show build on-site to ensure high levels of customer services - Work on-site internationally during build-up, open period, and breakdown of the show.
    • To attend regular industry events and face to face meetings - be the face of the company to the industry
    • Manage own time to attend events and take own initiative with keeping up to date with trends in the wider industry.
    • Contribute to developing and researching new ideas for revenue growth for the brand

As Sales Manager, the successful candidate must possess the following skills and attributes:

    • Be organized and take initiative in forecasting and reporting. Be accurate with strong attention to detail - keep good records
    • Strong communication and cooperation with HOS and ED in setting prices and strategy - take initiative in suggesting new ideas
    • Maintain integrity when selecting the companies to do business with, must evaluate so they are in line with the events values - may mean saying no more times than yes
    • Be professional. Build and maintain strong relationships with the key stakeholders of the event
    • Manage own time to attend events and take own initiative with keeping up to date with trends in the wider industry
    • Must be able to prioritise and focus on the key tasks to ensure all KPI’s are met
    • Strong leadership skills under pressure on-site to ensure all deliverables are met.

Experience the Sales Manager should have:

    • Strong Sales background of at least 4-5 years, preferably media sales linked to events/conference/exhibitions
    • Knowledge of exhibition sales preferred.
    • Knowledge of and passion for luxury experiential travel industry desirable.
    • Knowledge of Salesforce and Certain advantageous
    • Professional and dedicated.
    • Able to multi-task without losing sight of the overall targets.
    • Personable and a strong listener.
    • Hard working but fun, small team - pace of work is fast especially in the run up to the show.
    • Educated to degree standard or equivalent background knowledge & experience.
    • A thirst for sales
    • Strong team player
    • Must be driven by personally achieving targets.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to professionally represent the company.
    • Willing to travel on occasion as required.
    • Languages are a plus.
    • Specific industry and market knowledge (Luxury, Travel and Events) will be highly advantageous.

Key performance indicators of the Sales Manager

    • Success is measured by hitting group and individual revenue targets for the event both weekly, monthly and ensuring strong customer service feedback and team satisfaction
    • This person will need to send weekly reports to the entire company and give sales updates in weekly meetings to entire company.
    • Produce a sales strategy plan for the sales of the show you are responsible for

    Innovate yearly propositions for the event to ensure new revenue opportunities are explored.
