Sales Manager - Mortgages

Our client, a well-established and respected specialist Mortgage provider based in Hertfordshire is looking for a Sales Manager to lead their broker focused team. The main purpose of the role is to actively contribute to the achievement of business objectives and standards for direct and introduced mortgage business, retail funds and other income products e.g. General Insurance, via effective management of broker contacts. You will also be responsible for a small team of BDMs and telephone based support advisors.

Responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for the management of staff within the intermediary team
  • To actively and positively promote the organisation and its products and services
  • To produce business propositions for consideration by the Head of Lending, Product and Marketing Manager, Product Committee and Board
  • To deliver sales revenue, product mix and margin targets at an acceptable level of risk
  • To develop relationships with new and existing mortgage brokers, packagers and large distributors to promote organisation and encourage partnering and joint business opportunities
  • To develop relationships with solicitors, accountants, local authorities and other potential sources of investment monies and to look for other business opportunities
  • To achieve targets of new business within budgeted margins, risk profiles and income drivers by communicating and explaining information on our products, criteria and lending policy
  • To manage, support, lead and motivate staff

Experience, Skills and Knowledge:

  • A good working knowledge of the intermediary mortgage sector, ideally with already established relationships
  • Experience in a Business Development style role within financial services, ideally the residential mortgage sector
  • A proven track record of increasing business levels in accordance to compliance parameters
  • Demonstrable relationship/rapport building skills
  • CeMAP qualification desirable

This is a great opportunity to join a relatively small, customer focused institution. The role is a 50/50 mix of field based (National focus) and office based work at their Head Office to the north of London. The role comes with a competitive salary, car allowance and bonus scheme.
