Sales Executive / Media Sales Executive / Advertising Sales Executive
Our commission and bonus scheme runs to £12,000 per annum of earnings in addition to your basic salary.
We need a talented, friendly advertising salesperson to join our London office. We work in a very modern space, with free access to a shower-room for joggers and cyclists.
We are an independent publisher with a small, very friendly team and we put a large amount of trust in our salespeople to help us grow our brands and succeed in our markets.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Calling and/or visiting existing advertisers to maintain relationships, extend clients' spend with us, and renew their series bookings
- Work closely with the Editor on features around specific product areas to help you target advertisers with attractive offers
- Finding new business to bring into your magazine
For energetic candidates there is plenty of opportunity to get out of the office - our team frequently visit their clients for a coffee and catchup.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal sales executive will be outgoing, upbeat and capable of building friendly, positive commercial relationships. You do not need experience of working on advertising sales - but telephone selling and cold-calling experience are a useful headstart in this role. If you have not worked in advertising sales before, we can provide mentoring and coaching to help you get up to speed.
The role requires juggling the existing client portfolio with an ongoing search for new business. We’re looking for someone who enjoys being on the phone, gets satisfaction from landing a good sale, and whose approach to selling is consultative - the best salespeople have great rapport with their clients.
We know our markets inside-out and enjoy friendly, first-name-terms relationships with the hundreds of clients that we deal with every month. Our magazines enjoy market-leading positions in terms of circulation and in levels of advertising support too. Therefore we need strong sales people who can translate that market position into advertising revenue.
We've recently re-designed all of our magazines and websites to offer increasingly creative print/digital packages to our clients. Our e-newsletters are best-in-class and provide the magazines with daily exposure so that even when cold calling, salespeople find there is strong name-recognition for their magazine.

Basic salary: £25,000 per annum + Commission/Bonuses: £12,000 per annum
Total OTE Available: £37,000
