Your job is to get on the phone to uncover new business opportunities. You’ll need to know how to get hold of senior decision-makers over the phone and how to engage them once put through. Credibility, gravitas, warmth and persistence are all key in equal measure - not an easy set of attributes to have in one person but, if you have them, this is the role and the client for you.
You have probably graduated in the last couple of years and have 1-2 years’ experience of B2B telesales or telemarketing. The sector is unimportant but the skills you’ve learnt matter. You know you need to be resilient, enthusiastic and professional at all times. You have the mind-set to handle rejection without letting it get you down. You know how to open calls clearly and confidently in order to earn the right to speak to busy, professional people. You’ll also have a good idea of how to question them well to discover the truth about their office plans. Do that well and you’ll have plenty of chances to sell in the services of this leading company. Whilst you don’t need experience of the commercial property world, it would be helpful if you have an interest.
