Software Sales Executive to sell multi-channel ERP retail software for a vey successful company based in Coventry. Sales are typically £50k, 20 user systems, and £150k would be a really decent deal. The role is office based with a nationwide territory, and you would probably spend 2 days a week in the office, 2 on client site and maybe one day from home. Base salary to £40k plus car allowance and fuel card, targeted on £700-800k GP, OTE £80k.
This is very much a technical sales role; it is about understanding the requirements and fitting the systems into what that customer wants. It is dealing with the quirky, the oddities, and the clients with specialist requirements, that could be: the products are different, the market is different, the way they deliver is odd, or they are out of the main stream.
You will be selling a multi-channel ERP solution (as well as licenses, support contracts etc), to multi-channel retailers and the real strength of the product is eCommerce and web. It covers things like Catalogues, eCommerce / website, Point of Sales, Stock & Inventory, Warehousing, Purchasing, Pick & Pack and Despatch, eCommerce and Invoicing. Everything a retailer needs and does is covered by the solution. This makes the sales process very easy for the right clients. So, the sales role is about targeting the right clients and qualifying them in, all the way through the process.
Their clients tend to need some niche functionality. So selling involves really getting inside the customer's business, really listening, and it would suit a sales person who really enjoys a challenge. The role is focused on new business mainly with the existing base of clients. They have been well managed by the person who is leaving, and your role will be to continue account managing them but focus on getting a lot more out of them from a new business perspective.
You need to be able to demonstrate a good track record of sales and success in selling ERP, or Multi-channel retail, or eCommerce or Warehousing type software solutions. Some technical understanding around web-based products, or warehousing or eCommerce is essential.
As a company, they have done exceptionally well, they are one of the most profitable companies in the group that owns them. Generally the whole company is consistently busy with paid development work, so knowledge of working with developers would also be useful.
This is a dedicated bunch of people who like talented self-starters who really enjoy their work and are in it for the long haul. They offer ongoing training & development to help you achieve your career goals and boost your skills.
