To ensure contact is established when a customer visits the Store and every opportunity is taken to complete a sale.
To respond to all customers requests/queries adhering to the sales system and standards as set out by the Assistant Store Manager.
To have an in- depth knowledge of the product available and ranges available and apply this to the selling process.
To offer the Customer an Excellent level of service at all times in line with the Service Manual; which will include after-sales care and complaint handling.
To maintain areas of responsibility as defined by the Asst. Store Manager.
To present an attractive and efficient department at all times adhering to the standard visual merchandising principles as outlined by the Store Manager.
To adhere to 'floorrules’ set out by the Store Manager.
To support Asst. Store Manager in all his primary functions.
To cover all Sales Management functions in absence of the Sales Manager
Acknowledge/greets the customer.
Acknowledges one customer while meeting the needs of another.
Interprets customer signals and responds
Acceptance of customer service as a priority task.
To support the Asst. Store Manager in training and monitoring activities, carrying out training and morning briefing as necessary.
To assist Asst.Store Manager in conducting Store events ie marquee clearance, sale promotions etc.
Effectively handle customer complaints, queries, passing to Customer Service as necessary
Maximising sales performance by advising Store Manager of slow selling lines and encouraging growth areas.
Visiting competitors to keep informed of the market place trends/prices advising Store Manager of same.
Promoting team work amongst colleagues
Maintain standards of display, ticketing and presentation throughout the Store, including windows
Ensure good housekeeping is maintained instore including till areas, front desk, etc.
Ensure sales staff carry out sales admin effectively
Ensure all till procedures are followed correctly and that staff are fully aware of any changes
Ensure the store is free of customers prior to closing till/store
Ensuring adequate staff coverage in absence of the Asst. Store Manager in liaison with HR
SELLING THE PRODUCT
Readily gives information of product range
Making effective recommendations
Readily gives advice on size, colour, quality, suitable for purpose.
Understands features & benefits. Is aware of matching/relating merchandise.
Display of appropriate range of merchandise.
Maintains close links with supplier reports to keep abreast of new developments,range changes etc.
Presents to product and alternatives making effective recommendations.
Approach to Customer using effective opening line.
Use of open questions to establish customer needs
Giving accurate never misleading information to customers
Use of MRS for the following:
To quote prices and lead times
To enter a fast deposit
To sell stock lines
To take a payment
To print acknowledgement notes
To check outstanding sales orders
To enter notes on an order
To use EPOS to process a sale of accessories
My client is looking for similar retail based sales experience. There will be a bonus structure available for the successful candidate.
