Location: Home / Field Based, Midlands M4 / M6 corridor (regular travelling during the first 3 months, then occasionally thereafter)
Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm & Friday 8am - 4pm
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum + benefits including commission (realistically 10-15%) & work flexibility
Travel around UK necessary with 2-3 nights a week possibly away from home.

An innovative British engineering company is on the lookout for a Sales & Business Development Executive with a strong PPE background to join their team. They specialise in the design and manufacture of respiratory safety systems for workers in high-risk environments, and work with clients including major airline and rail operatives across the world.

About the Role:
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for generating and developing sales for their equipment throughout the UK and Europe, involving:

  • Promoting the company's range of life protection products
  • Identifying new and existing key market sectors or new development opportunities
  • Planning regular contact/visits with existing and potential customers within the designated market sectors
  • Agreeing on sales and profit targets with the General Manager
  • Answering customer calls and sales/web enquiries & responding to customer needs
  • Collaborating with training providers to promote their products
  • Preparing & following up on customer quotes
  • Maintaining customer records & providing reports to management (i.e. on customers market conditions, buying objections, buying trends, marketing effectiveness and product feedback)
  • Communicating all relevant product details affecting design, purchasing and production
  • Planning, preparing & attending exhibitions as and when required
  • Preparing & presenting sales presentations and product demonstrations (internally and to customers / potential customers)
  • Providing technical support regarding costing and estimation of products projects and tenders
  • Meeting or entertaining key account UK customers
  • Coordinating with the LPS team (especially the LPS Production and Quality Manager & LPS Support Administrator)
  • Preparing monthly or quarterly progress & outstanding quotation reports
  • Providing training for LPS customers
  • Reporting to the LPS General Manager is to be first line manager
  • Working closely with the production team, administrators and other sales members

About You:

  • Strong PPE background
  • Comfortable with generating new business & providing ongoing account management
  • Willingness to travel
  • Polite & professional manner (face to face, over the telephone or via email)
  • Understanding of the health & safety industry, relevant industry standards and best practice for company products
