Our prestigious Cllent has an excellent opportunity for a Sales / Bid Manager to join their global organisation, based in Aston.
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for;
Identifying opportunities and generating new business within the UK Automotive and Rail sectors
Using formal tender processes, to identify and write bid materials to apply for new business
Meeting with clients and presenting the company services and solutions
Growing the business in line with the company vision and values
Ensuring procurement departments in potential clients have the right contact details and know about the full range of services available to them.
Conducting a preliminary review and presenting shortlist bid opportunities to management
Attending bidders / supplier days with potential clients to assess opportunities
Creating commercial models and pricing evaluations to correctly price services (where needed)
Working with senior managers to obtain approvals for commercial models
Securing new business across all service sectors in Automotive and Rail business
Identify events and trade shows where your representation would generate opportunities and attend those events, either as an exhibitor or visitor to network and generate opportunities

Skills & Knowledge Essential
Proven track record of business development in the service sector, and experienced in the preparation of bids and tenders
Strong knowledge of public procurement
Experience of using own initiative and taking personal responsibility for decisions taken
Experience of a 'consultative sell’
Superior communication and interpersonal skills
Able to prepare and deliver presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint
Able to prepare and write tender responses
Understanding of IT systems and process knowledge
High level of ability with Excel and other Microsoft packages
Ability to define and apply processes in a commercial and contractual sense
Comprehensive commercial understanding
Ability to create commercial models
Able to present a high degree of professionalism at internal and external meetings
A strong command of the English language both written and verbal
Based from the Midlands, but willingness to stay away overnight as and when required
Willing to travel extensively in the UK and sometimes overseas
Full clean driving licence for use in the UK
Industry background aligned to Automotive, Rail services
Educated to degree level
