Our client, a Multi-Award Winning Media company has a new opportunity for a tenacious 'Sales Account Manager’ to join their sales team in Dartford, Kent. This role will see you join a very successful family run business with over 400 staff in 4 prime UK locations. Our client publishes over 64 separate titles and also heavily involved in exhibitions, conferences and group travel.

Reporting to the Sales Manager, this role will see you take ownership of maximising sales revenue one of the UK’s leading (and high class) magazines "Glass and Glazing Products". This industry alone is worth more than £4billion, with 18,000 companies and 250,000 employed in the UK. As the 'Sales Account Manager’, you will be required to generate new business and maintain existing business by developing relationships in the industry and selling advertising, sponsorship, and bespoke projects to a number of clients.
Key day-to-day tasks include:
- Generating and maximising business
- Maintaining and building relationships with existing and new clients
- Keeping abreast of developments in the marketplace
- Liaising with new clients to implement products as part of their advertising strategies
- Meeting targets set for print, online and project revenue well within deadlines
- Developing interest and basic knowledge of the topics covered in the publications
- Showing initiative and high organisational abilities in maintaining transparent records of progress
The ideal candidate:
- A minimum 1 - 2yrs sales experience (face-to-face selling is essential)
- If you have previous media or publishing experience this is an advantage however not essential (full training will be given)
- You will be a driven individual, who enjoys the buzz of sales and thrives on hitting your targets
- 'Work hard, play hard’ - someone who loves working on a busy sales floor
- A proven track record of generating new business
- Confident, happy to pick up the phone and grow new relationships and contacts
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Smart in appearance
- Willing to travel on a regular basis to visit clients (Have your own transport, mileage paid per mile)
- Within a commutable distance of Dartford, Kent
The role offers a good basic salary, uncapped (monthly, quarterly and annual) commission plus many other fantastic company benefits/perks including in-house training, 1-2-1 career development and smart objectives, various social events and activity staff days and much more (including office drinks every Friday afternoon from 4:30pm).
