Sales Account Manager (Engineering)

My client who are a national engineering company, currently require a Sales Account Manager for their office in Coventry. The business work in a variety of industries with a heavy focus on automotive.

Key elements of the job

Manage a number of specific key customer accounts

Develop positive, long lasting relationships with clients

Generate new business using existing and potential customer / supplier networks

Work towards achieving individual and company sales targets

Ensure all quotations are delivered on time, and are detailed with transparent information - scope / costs / timing

Strong commercial awareness

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Technical understanding of engineering practices

Able to analyse RFQ documents to determine customer requirements

Willing to travel as required

Self-driven with a confident and determined approach

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Able to lead, mentor and delegate to supporting departmental staff

An understanding of controls systems would be beneficial

Assigned Authorities and Responsibilities

Managing all sales activities for specific customer accounts

Costing and quotation submission

Supervision of supporting personnel - costing & proposals engineers

Ensuring all quotations are delivered on time, and are detailed with transparent information - scope / costs / timing

Executing a handover meeting with key stakeholders upon receipt of customer order placement

Supporting initial project reviews post-handover as required

Customer presentations
