The enthusiastic team at Brechin Health Centre are seeking to welcome an additional GP into their well-established multidisciplinary team, which consists of GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, HCA, Pharmacy, First Contact Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Mental Health & Wellbeing Nurses, Community Nurses, Health Visitors and administrative team. This Board run practice is the only practice in the town of Brechin, serving a practice population of approximately 9,500. Brechin is a beautiful, easily accessible small cathedral city, 30 minutes’ drive from either Dundee or Aberdeen. It is minutes from the Angus Glens with the coast also only 8 miles away. Brechin boasts a good selection of shops, a vibrant community and good housing. There are good schools with the high school and sports complex housed within a new community campus. Thanks to significant redesign and development within the practice over recent years, most GP appointments are now 15 minutes and house call demand is minimal. The MDT team is well developed and continuing to expand in line with the new GMS contract. Extended MDT meetings take place weekly and team huddles occur daily. The team is friendly with a strong focus on quality improvement. Improvements are ongoing to further develop a sustainable practice model for the future, and priorities for future development include becoming a GP Training Practice, further use of IT/digital healthcare to support population needs and maximise organisational effectiveness and efficiency. Brechin Health Centre sits within the North East Angus cluster with strong collaborative working with neighbouring practices in Edzell and Montrose and locality-based specialist services, such as Psychiatry of Old Age and Medicine for the Elderly. This is an ideal position for a highly motivated team player, committed to supporting delivery of safe, sustainable and effective primary care-based services. While full time hours would be preferred, part- time options will be considered. Salary is £86,898 (based on 40 hours per week), with weekly CPD time available to support ongoing professional development. As a Board employee, you will have the advantage of Crown Indemnity (although you are encouraged to seek advice from your defence union also). A generous relocation package may be available. Please contact Rhona Guild, , telor Dr Robert Mellish, ,telfor informal discussion or further information- we welcome informal enquiries and visits. As we are looking to appoint to these posts at the earliest opportunity we would encourage you to submit your application as soon as possible with a view to fast tracking applications and arranging interviews as they are received.
