Job Description

At an exciting time for Link Asset Services, we have a part time position available in our Leeds office for a Health, Safety and Environment Adviser (HSE). Based in our Arlington Business Centre office, close to the
White Rose Shopping Centre in Leeds, your key role as HSE Adviser will be to ensure procedures and practices are compliant with Link Health & Safety and Environment Policies and are monitored and followed at the Leeds site.

As an HSE Adviser you will:

  • Maintain the SHE and WorkRite Portals

  • Carry out risk assessments for all business/off-site activities

  • Ensure all equipment and machinery is properly maintained and safe for use, and any defects are identified and rectified promptly

  • Ensure the workplace is free from hazards

  • Ensure that fire precautions and management systems are maintained

  • Ensure contractors and visitors are aware of safety and environment procedures

  • Ensure adequate information, instruction, training and supervision are provided on an ongoing basis to all employees to ensure work activities are carried out safely and without harm to the environment

  • Ensure sufficient first aiders and Fire Wardens are on site and that all associated certification is up to date

  • Log all safety, health and environment accidents, incidents and near misses are recorded, investigated and reported on the online reporting HSE Portal

  • Undertake additional Office Services tasks as and when time allows, tasks include:

    • Assist with visitor arrangements (buffet ordering, room setup,
      etc.

    • Operate switchboard

    • Assist with incoming & outbound post

    • Monitor & reorder stationery

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisation skills
  • Excellent customer/client service skills
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Results driven with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Team working

Desirable:

  • IOSH Managing Safelyor equivalent

  • Experience in an HSE /or DSE Assessor role

Additional Information

Hours of work

This is a part time role working 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. There is flexibility as to how this is made up during the week; this can be discussed at application screening stage.
