Safeguarding Public Protection & Mental Capacity Practitioner

Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is a health and social care Trust and as such has a vacancy for a registered Social Worker to work as a Safeguarding, Public Protection & Mental Capacity Practitioner within their innovative safeguarding, public protection and mental capacity team.

This offers an exciting opportunity for the successful applicant to either apply for a Band 6 which is a development post from a Band 6 to a Band 7 role within a twelve month period under supervision with a development plan; or for someone who has the requisite qualifications, experience, knowledge and skills to be employed as a Band 7.

The post holder will work with the Safeguarding, Public Protection & Mental Capacity Team to ensure that clinical staff receive timely and expert advice and training on the Mental Capacity Act (2005) and across the safeguarding domains, namely safeguarding children, adults at risk, domestic abuse, Multi-Agency Public Protection, anti-social behaviour, advocacy & Prevent. This is a corporate role with the function of supporting operational services to engage, develop and deliver their safeguarding roles and responsibilities effectively to ensure human rights are upheld, that people are protected and our communities are safer.

The successful candidate will work with a range of key professionals and partner agencies in order to contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the Trust’s safeguarding, public protection & mental capacity processes and practice. They will regularly work within Lincolnshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable People Hub in Grantham to ensure effective information sharing and protection plans. They will work within multi-agency forums and settings to ensure collaborative safeguarding and to enhance effective information sharing, risk analysis and management.
