Safeguarding and Equality Manager needed for an ongoing temporary contract in Cheltenham

Your new role

As a safeguarding and equality manager you will be working on an ongoing temporary basis in Cheltenham. This is a full time position (37.5 hours per week). As a safeguarding and equality manager you will be the organisation's safeguarding lead, developing and implementing the safeguarding policy and procedures to protect the needs of vulnerable adults and children living in the community. You will be main point of contact in cases where there is a safeguarding concerns. As a safeguarding and equality manager you will be the organisations domestic abuse led developing and implementing the domestic abuse policy and procedures to mitigate the risk of domestic abuse. You will lead, develop and implement the equality and diversity strategy and ensure compliance with the equality act is carried out accordingly. Within your new post you will ensure a focused safeguarding and domestic abuse practice and review performance as well as deliver ongoing improvement to the service and specific departments when necessary. You will consistently promote the importance of effective safeguarding practice in order to mitigate the risks to tenants and their families.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the Safeguarding and Equality manager post you must have previous experience in a similar role. You must have working knowledge on equality and diversity, as well as strong expertise on safeguarding. It is essential you are passionate about excellence in equality and diversity and a track record in developing and managing safeguarding and domestic abuse policy and systems. You must have significant experience at managing the equality analysis process to prevent direct and indirect discrimination.
