Location: Central Banbury – OX16 0AE

Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 Depending on experience

The Road Safety Analyst role

The post holder will play an important role in the delivery of a range of high quality analytical and information services for Agilysis clients, to inform road safety interventions and campaigns. They will contribute to product development, support intervention delivery, and also liaise with clients to ensure they derive maximum benefit from these services.

The Road Safety Analyst role will principally focus on delivery of analytical products and services to Agilysis clients. The post holder will also contribute to developing Agilysis’ analytic services, as well as supporting implementation of interventions. There will be substantial opportunities to develop analytical, technical and professional skills and knowledge.

The Road Safety Analyst duties:

  • Collate and analyse data from multiple sources, performing trend, spatial and socio demographic analysis
  • Utilise appropriate software including Excel, SQL, R and QGIS in an efficient and robust manner, in accordance with procedures established by the Directors
  • Produce charts, maps and online resources using resources such as Tableau, Power BI and JavaScript which communicate analytical findings to clients
  • Produce standard products and bespoke reports for clients, using software including Microsoft Word
  • Make an ongoing contribution to developing a range of analytical products
  • Evaluate the efficacy of enforcement systems for clients
  • Support service delivery at conferences and events
  • Attend training and pursue continuous professional development to advance and maintain relevant knowledge and skills

The idealRoad Safety Analyst will need the following:

  • Skilled in using analytical tools such as Microsoft Excel, preferably with some database, GIS, statistical and/or BI technologies
  • Educated to at least A-Level or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a role involving data analysis and/or report writing would be highly beneficial
  • Road safety knowledge, experience of socio demographic profiling and/or familiarity with the STATS19 dataset would be beneficial
  • Full driving licence and use of a car, and a flexible approach to occasional work on evenings and weekends would be helpful
