As the result of the recent NHS Grampian Practice Education Review, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a new Band 6 Practice Educator at Dr Gray’s Hospital. We are looking to appoint to this part- time position, with the flexibility to work over Monday-Friday, depending on Education & Training requirements.
The post-holder will be part of the divisional team, led by a Lead Practice Educator, who together will be responsible for supporting both pre and post registration Nurse training at Dr Gray’s Hospital, as well as the development of Clinical Health Care Support Workers. As the post is tri-partite funded the post-holder will work closely with RGU and NES as key stakeholders.
Applicants should be a Nurse with current NMC registration and;
- Have extensive experience at Band 5 or above, in posts which included supporting and supervising learners in acute adult practice settings.
- Demonstrate experience of mentoring, teaching and facilitation in a range of clinical and educational settings.
- Provide evidence of working at post-graduate diploma level (or equivalent).
- Ideally have an NMC accredited teaching qualification or be prepared to undertake a post graduate course to achieve this.
The post holder would be primarily covering Dr Gray’s Hospital; however as this post is part of a wider Practice Education team covering the whole of NHS Grampian, further travel may be necessary for attending meetings/conferences/events.
The successful candidate will be offered mentorship and a full development plan to support their new role.

An attractive relocation allowance of up to £8,000 is available to successful candidates.
