What we’re looking for:

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of something very special. Located in Donnington - Telford, the Risk Manager is a key component within the business process.

What we want you to do is lead the design, implementation and maintenance of the risk management framework within KN in line with the KN UK strategic plans. This includes developing and maintaining detailed risk management policies and processes and working with key business stakeholders to facilitate the embedding of these across KN.

The Risk Manager will also be responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of KN Business Continuity and Emergency Planning along with being responsible for ongoing review and challenge of risk framework effectiveness and the implementation of risk management best practice.

You will also develop and maintain an effective enterprise Business Continuity Management (BCM) governance framework that is consistent with general regulatory requirements and industry best practices/standards.

What you’ll do:

Managing Relationships

  • Provide support to key business stakeholders in implementing KNs risk framework

  • Work with all internal work streams in KN defining the Groups risk appetite against plan and the assessment of capital adequacy requirements

  • Manage the relationship with the 3rd party outsourced provider risk representatives

  • Represent Risk at the monthly Risk and Opportunities Committee meeting

  • Primary contact for significant incidents or risk events

Managing Process and Administration

  • Lead the design, documentation, communication and implementation of the KN risk management framework

  • Develop, maintain and communicate detailed risk management policies and processes including the quarterly control self-assessment process

  • Undertake an annual review of the risk management policy in preparation for Senior Leadership Team (SLT) sign off, communicating amendments to business areas as required

  • Design and implement the policy compliance process applicable for all KN policies

  • Lead the roll out of the quarterly control self-assessment and annual policy compliance processes, working with business stakeholders and 3rd party providers where appropriate

  • Scope and deliver the ongoing self-assessment of risk management processes and procedures, scoping, agreeing and implementing improvements as required

Managing People

  • Provide excellent leadership facilitating team objectives and helps the team perform at their best, through motivating, guidance and developing them to achieve high performance.

  • Plan and schedule workload for teams and projects as requested.

  • Carry out training and encourages and drives quality and continuous improvement of processes within the team.

  • Carry out staff performance reviews identifying staff development and training needs and devise development programs

What you’ll bring:

  • An in-depth understanding of business continuity management and governance frameworks, strong knowledge of business continuity best practices and protocols, operational risk management, and in-depth knowledge and expertise of the BU’s operations, including IT practices. Specific expertise should include:

  • Business Continuity Management practices and protocols, including in-depth knowledge of international BCM standards promoted by BCI and DR. and ISO

  • A strong understanding of Operational risk and resilience, Business Process improvement methods as well as risk related control frameworks and practices (COCO, COSO, ISO, ITIL, CMM, COBIT, etc.),

  • All aspects of the BU’s organisational structure and critical products and services, including the delivery mechanisms and IT associated with each, and the technical and operations infrastructure.

  • Solid knowledge of IT and Operations Audit methodology

  • Corporate Policies and Standards of BMO and its operating subsidiaries

  • Solid understanding of the Operational Risk Management methodology
