Risk & Governance Manager, Smart Metering

About the Team:

You`ll join a friendly, dynamic and highly motivated Commercial Team that is tasked with a wide range of Commercial and Contract activity, provides critical pro-active and reactive advice to the smart metering programme and also holds responsibility for the formulation and exploitation of future market strategy.

Your Role:

This role is accountable for the overall Risk and Governance processes and procedures for the Smart Meters Implementation Programme. The role holder will take responsibility for identifying and categorising all Risks across the SMIP environment and for ensuring suitable mitigation plans exist. The role is responsible for conducting regular reviews of Risks and ensuring Senior Management is suitably aware and engaged. The role is responsible for ensuring all governance commitments (within the Contract and Telefonica) are met and ensures these are regularly reviewed and meet best practice.

Responsibilities:

-Owns responsibility for creating and maintaining a single Risk & Governance framework and register for the existing SMIP contract, providing the single place where all SMIP related risks are collated and categorised
-Leads the continual review and implementation of a governance framework for the Contract, ensuring that meetings are taking place, the required inputs and outputs are delivered for both Customer facing and Internal governance requirements
-With the Contracts team, ensures all the contractual obligations (prime and vendor) are captured, have an up to date process flow and owner attached. Ensures a `zero failure` tolerance is implemented on top identified onerous obligations
-Delivers stakeholder-group-relevant Risk & Governance reporting and dashboards to ensure each group is always aware of top Risks and progress/status of plans to mitigate
-Conducts regular sessions with relevant stakeholder groups to ensure Risks are up to date and robust / realistic mitigation plans are in place or in progress
-Owns Commercial Risks and Opportunities tracker and proactively seeks to mitigate / execute on each respectively through commercial scrutiny, idea generation etc.
-Responsible for collating, refining the Contracts Obligations tracker, managing the input to this from workstream SMEs (including Prime and vendor Contracts SMEs) and ensuring compliance with the same

Skills & experience:

-Likely to have significant contract and programme Risk & Governance experience, gained on large-scale public sector, infrastructure or IT programme(s)
-Able to demonstrate strong evidence of proactive risk identification and mitigation and challenge
-Able to bring leadership on best practice on Risk & Governance tools, processes and procedures
-Must being able to help Senior Stakeholders prioritise and understand key Risks and implications `at a glance`
-Comfortable to work independently and be tenacious
-Ability to work constructively with colleagues and build relationships across all levels and functions
