Are you a legal Compliance professional looking for a new challenge? Our client is a successful US law firm and they are looking to recruit a Risk & Compliance Manager for their London office. Working closely with the COLP, COFA and MLRO, the Risk & Compliance Manager will work to review, develop and maintain the procedures and policies in relation to all risk matters. Key responsibilities for the Risk & Compliance Manager will include:

  • Proactively identifying risk and recommending solutions to mitigate risk
  • Identifying new/changed regulatory requirements and legal obligations which impact on the operations of the firm
  • Drafting policies or procedures, and gaining approval from the Risk Committee
  • Keeping updated with SRA changes and LLP requirements; liaising with the SRA on regulatory issues
  • Understanding and ensuring compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures
  • Performing Risk & Compliance inductions for new joiners; ensuring fee earners are full trained on AML policies
  • Completing the COLP and AML breaches registers
  • Continually promoting the firm's commitment to risk and compliance

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of law firm Risk and Compliance, with strong management level experience. Any experience of working with the SRA is highly desirable. Good knowledge of the SRA Handbook, Money Laundering Regulations and other relevant legislation is required, along with a professional attitude and the ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure. You will be highly motivated and confident, and be able to take ownership of the role and lead meetings in a professional manner. Excellent attention to detail is required, along with strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and train others.
