Risk Assurance Manager

The Prudential UK Risk function is responsible for effectively advising and challenging key stakeholders, challenging risks effectively and proactively, and adding value through providing enhanced business insights to support the delivery of customers’ long term needs. 

The role sits in the Operational Risk function and supports the delivery of the Risk Assurance Plan and in doing so, supports the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework and Policies.

You will be responsible for managing and executing end-to-end operational risk assurance deep dives/reviews across all business areas and outsourced service providers; preparing, reviewing and approving Assurance review findings and recommendations; contributing to the creation and maintenance of the Assurance Plan and the ongoing enhancement of the Assurance Methodology.

You will work in collaboration with the wider Enterprise & Operational Risk team and the other assurance functions (Audit, Compliance, Technology Risk, Financial Risk), as well as 1st line risk & control teams and other stakeholders, to support the maintenance of a robust control environment that helps to identify, develop and deliver the best outcome for our customers and stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Expert knowledge of risk assurance tools, techniques and industry best practice within the UK financial services sector including regulatory, governance and risk management rules and regulations

  • Significant experience in a risk management, assurance or audit environment

  • Expert knowledge of operational risk management methodologies and frameworks

  • Significant experience of outsourcer engagement and oversight

  • Detailed knowledge of life, pensions and investment products, distribution channels and operating environments

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • A relevant professional qualification

You will work off your own initiative and be able to look beyond face value, ask the right questions and use your strong investigative and analytical skills to spot connections across the organisation.

You will be experienced in building strong relationships across all levels of the business, being able to independently challenge, influence and engage at the appropriate levels, whilst remaining persistent and resilient in the face of challenge.
