Risk & Assurance Consultant
My client, a leading energy provider is looking to engage a Risk and Assurance Consultant on an initial 3-month contract to join them at their location in Barnwood Gloucestershire.
The Risk and Assurance Consultant is responsible for supporting the Risk & Assurance Manager in ensuring that robust IT risk and compliance processes are embedded throughout the Enterprise IT function and adhered to, giving consideration to business risks.
Ensure the risks are effectively managed within the IT function, aligned with Group guidelines, Company guidelines and leading best practice. This will require close liaison with the Internal Audit, Risk and Control team, and the IT leadership and management team.
Support the development, coordination and promotion of the Company's commitment to embed Internal Control throughout all IT, working with stakeholders, business units and information security teams. This may include oversight and direction for the completion of the annual Internal Controls Self-Assessment required by Group for the department
Knowledge and Skills
Track record of supporting change to organisational processes, and possess a clear vision of the philosophy and culture needed in the organisation to transform the effectiveness of IT projects and operations;
Comfortable influencing outside their direct line of command and working in a fast changing, demanding, environment where deadlines must be met;
Good knowledge of PCI DSS compliance, awareness of all PCI DSS activities, and related threats and trends; and report writing.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of current information risk, compliance and regulatory management standards, practices and technologies affecting the utilities industry, including PCI-DSS, ISO27xx, IRAM2, etc;
Qualifications and Experience
- Investigative/audit background desirable
- Absolutely trustworthy with high standards of personal integrity and willing to undergo vetting if necessary
- Demonstrable experience in the whole of the scope of responsibilities above in the utilities industry;
- Experience of tracking and reporting relevant KPI's;
- Experience of delivering against an Assurance Plan (meeting deadlines, high standard of deliverables and accuracy);
