The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is looking for an experienced, flexible and forward-thinking Nurse Endoscopist to join the existing team to support our Diagnostic Services and the National Bowel Screening Programme.

To serve the Island community we have a new purpose built 3 theatre state of the art Endoscopy Unit, which includes 4 x en suite prep rooms, 3 x consultation rooms, a pre- assessment room, 10 bedded recovery area, with second stage lounge and an advanced decontamination suite. We have a busy, expanding unit which undertakes, OGD, Colonoscopy, ERCP, Bronchoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy and is joined with Portsmouth for Bowel Screening Services.

A dedicated, flexible and committed approach is essential, along with a focused and proactive attitude to the development of the Endoscopy Team and Services on the Isle of Wight. Working collaboratively with the Lead Clinician and other members of the Endoscopy MDT, the post holder will take an active role in ensuring the service delivers the highest standards of clinical care. This will include actively supporting the implementation of new nationally agreed directives, especially those related to cancer screening programmes, and seeking routes to improve and develop the service for the future.

As a senior member of the Endoscopy Team you will be responsible and accountable for leading and delivering the highest standard of individualized care to meet national and local targets and develop the service in line with JAG and BSG recommendations.

You will have Your own case load of patients for whom you will perform sedated and non-sedated upper and lower gastro-intestinal, diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy. This will include both routine and urgent in-patient and outpatients. You will be expected to demonstrate highly specialist and advanced clinical knowledge, skills and decision making, working autonomously to manage whole episodes of patient care independent of medical supervision but as a key member of the Endoscopy Service multi-disciplinary team (MDT).

Salary range between £42,110 - £50,196 per annum- dependent on skills and experience

This post attracts a £10,000 recruitment premium for a successful candidate agreeing to a minimum of a 2-year full time contract.
