Scope:
The UK is the biggest market outside of the US in Brown-Forman.

This role forms part of the support to the business management team providing pricing analysis & commercial decision making support to the UK.

This position will work closely with the UK Finance Manager whilst business partnering brand managers and sales teams to help the UK Finance Manager/Director make commercial decisions based on the output of analysis done on pricing/promotional mechanics across all brands. This position will also assist the UK Finance Manager/Analyst on any other monthly tasks as needed.

Basic Function:

Pricing & Promotions Strategy 60%

  • Responsible for helping the Finance Manager drive forward the pricing and promotions strategy in the UK along with the Finance Director
  • Provide timely reviews of promotional performance for all the key brands with quarterly reviews on all brands
  • Build a system and process to facilitate these reviews, including reviewing effectiveness, profitability, comparing to previous expectations and advising future promotional strategy
  • Report back on findings to the Sales & Marketing teams, and BBFB Account Managers to gain insight and consensus on strategies
  • Work alongside the Pan-European pricing team and the US Diagnostics and Business Insights department to share insights and best practice, assisting where possible
  • Assist in determining pricing and promotional plans for new product development and monitoring post launch
Pricing Projects 20%
  • Assist Sales Director and Marketing Managers with specific projects as required
  • Perform elasticity studies selected on key brands
  • Pull together 3 year pricing strategies across key brands
Assist Finance Manager with tasks as needed 20%
  • Month End reporting/analysis
  • Brand Spend/SG & A Management
  • Budget/Projections Submission
  • Sox Controls covering all aspects of Net Sales
  • Ad-hoc requests

Must Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business or similar discipline or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years experience in the wine and spirit industries or FMCG
  • Experience of managing projects to completion
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven understanding of the commercial environment & able to demonstrate clear understanding & inter dependency of commercial, brand & trade strategy
  • Sound commercial knowledge of Off-trade retail/grocery accounts including, not limited to, the Promotional Analysis of these accounts
  • Ability to form strategic relationships/partnerships across the organisation and Bacardi-Brown-Forman
  • Demonstrated ability to make decisions independently based on logical assumptions and factual information
  • Experience with computer applications in accounting, budgeting and financial analysis. In particular advanced Excel proficiency (must be proficient at advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros/VBA)
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects to completion by agreed deadlines
  • Fluency in English language
