Salary: £30,296 - £32,076 per annum (pay award pending wef 1 April 2024)

Retrofit Engagement Officer – The Role:
This is a fixed term position for a period of 12 months and is a new and exciting role that supports our growing climate team.
You will devise and deliver an innovative new engagement programme to stimulate uptake of energy retrofit projects amongst householders across the Borough. Helping us to bring down emissions.
Working in harmony both with the borough's Future Fit Homes Project Manager, and alongside the countywide retrofit partnership, you will have close links to two other Retrofit Engagement Officers based in both the Forest of Dean and Cotswold District Council.
It is preferable that the successful candidate has experience within the low carbon, or retrofit sectors, previous work experience in a project management role, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to our core values.
Retrofit Engagement Officer– Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver an engagement programme to promote energy retrofit projects amongst district householders
- Create content for social media, newsletters, and other communication channels
- Collaborate internally and externally on enhancing energy efficiency initiatives
- Organise and facilitate community events, workshops, and programmes to promote retrofitting
- Raise awareness for retrofit training with partners and the County’s Green Skills Coordinator
- Relationship-building with householders, community partners, local authorities and stakeholders
- Act as a liaison for CBC and the community, addressing concerns
- Gather feedback to understand community
needs for project evaluation evidence
- Manage householder data in a GDPR compliant manner
- Assist in developing community–driven retrofit projects, including our FutureFit project pilot
- Optimise the performance of the county-wide retrofit services supplier, recommending amendments if necessary
- Monitor national policy to form future retrofit services supported by the council
Retrofit Engagement Officer – You:
Essential:
- A level or NVQ3 or BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent experience
- Project/programme management skills, preferably retrofit projects
- Experience in community outreach, this can include voluntary work
- Content creation skills for engagement materials
- Knowledge of energy efficiency in buildings, particularly within the domestic sector
- Ability to plan and execute community events and workshops
- Familiarity with community engagement approaches
Desirable:
- Knowledge of PAS 2035 retrofit standards and the retrofit market
- A relevant qualification (level 3 award in energy awareness or domestic retrofit advice)
- Understand the challenges of retrofitting historic properties
- Relationship-building skills for diverse range of communities, advisory experience
- Experience writing project reports and updates
- Experience in real-world research techniques
