As a Store Manager, candidates can expect both a position with considerable challenges and a high degree of commercial autonomy. Tasked across a full range of operational KPI’s , managers are expected to maximise sales through effective staff distribution and high merchandising and service standards as well as ensuring correct stock packages and a commercial store layout. Stores for this company are large, high turnover environments with considerable challenges around stock management and require Store Managers comfortable controlling a fast-paced business and able to manage and motivate a team of junior managers and their subordinates. A Store Manager Designate is currently required to work in stores in West London and the role will initially be to provide management cover for holiday and sickness, to assist the Area Manager with a variety of troubleshooting and management support projects and to be on hand for a variety of day to day store management tasks.
Suitable candidates will have a depth of retail management experience gained within a large format business. Your experience can be from Department or Chain Stores, high turnover fashion, clothing, footwear or accessories outlets based in either the high street or out of town or from other service led retail businesses where commerciality and customer service are key. Crucially you will possess a rounded management style, able to work with a variety of stakeholders, and be adept at spotting commercial opportunity and reacting to the need of your customers. This is a challenging business and successful candidates will have their skills and ability thoroughly tested. The role will particularly appeal to ambitious Deputy, Floor or Sales Managers looking for a route to Store Management. After a period in this role candidates can expect to be fast tracked to their own site and the company is expanding at such a rate that roles will almost certainly become available within 6 months.
