Retail Sales Associate, Full time - High end Boutique

Location: Croydon area

Our client is a high end, independent, luxury boutique based in the Croydon area. They are looking for an exceptional sales associate with experience in the fashion retail sector, to join their small, but established team. This is a full time permanent role.

The ideal candidate:

  • You will be client focused and take sales and customer service initiative when dealing with established & new clients to the Boutique
  • You will be sales focused and able to promote the business to its full potential
  • You will act as an Ambassador for the Boutique and be able to build confidence of the clients to ensure repeat business
  • You must possess strong organisational skills and demonstrate attention to detail
  • You will have the ability to build and retain client relationships and address all client needs when they visit the Boutique
  • You will be well-presented and have excellent personal skills that enable you to communicate clearly at all levels face to face, by email, and on the phone
  • You will be computer literate and systems savvy and fully aware of social media and social media networking to retain, publicise and market the business
  • You will be available to work 5 Full time days per week one day at the weekend, which is a Saturday, with a day of in lieu in the week
  • You must have a very flexible attitude as this is a customer facing service industry role. There may be additional times such as Promotional evenings, trade shows, the odd Sunday working for stock control etc. that you will need to fulfil as well as servicing clients who arrive just before closing sometimes!
  • You will portray a professional and polished demeanour demonstrating confidence and a positive can-do attitude at all times to the clients
  • You will have the ability to interact professionally and respectfully with all clients
  • You will be a team player but also able to take ownership of your own decisions

The Job

  • Ensure that you arrive punctually as the keyholder to open up the Boutique each morning
  • Ensuring the Boutique is always clean, tidy and professionally presented
  • Organisational skills are a must as there is a lot to juggle in this busy environment
  • Assist with visual merchandising for the shop window
  • Welcoming clients into the Boutique environment and ensuring a truly personal shopping style experience
  • There is a very established client base that you will need to get to know as well as new clients daily
  • Upsell accessories to include shoes, jewellery and on some occasions hats to optimise on sales
  • Phoning round the established client base to advise them of new lines within the boutique and to welcome them back into the boutique if they have not been in for a while
  • You will be able to listen and response in both a proactive and reactive way in order to ensure the client leaves the boutique satisfied and with purchases they are 100% happy with
  • You will be responsible for updating the website, marketing database, social media links and posts to maximise on sales and promotional days
  • You will be part of a small tight knit team and have the ability to work well with others
  • You will be in touch with suppliers to ensure orders are fulfilled
  • There is a seamstress based in the boutique and you must make use of this service and ensure clients are aware of this for purchases they make

Qualifications & experience required

  • You may have a Fashion related degree
  • You must have retail or customer facing sales experience in a fashion retail setting of at least 2 years in a High Street or high end setting in fashion
  • You will be professionally presented and well-spoken and used to dealing with clients at all levels
