Retail Property Manager

My client, a growing management consultancy are seeking a retail property manager to come on board and manage the central Birmingham portfolio consisting of mainly office and retail units. They are looking for a MRICS qualifies individual with retail management experience.

Job Summary:

  • To manage and take 'full ownership' of a given number of properties
  • To meet the team director for one to one meetings
  • To attend team meetings
  • To carry out property inspections and take note of buildings defects, tenants alterations, occupiers and what is happening in the local area
  • To draft and present management reports to the client in face to face meetings
  • To work with facilities managers, centre managers, clients accountants, purchase ledgers and treasury and other central functions


  • An understanding of the retail property market
  • An understanding of retail management and its application
  • Be organised/have a methodical approach to their work
  • Depending on the instruction, to identify asset management initiatives and see them through to completion
  • An understanding of the rationale behind retail asset management opportunities and showing a readiness to engage in negotiations
  • An eagerness to find avenues for new clients and work and become involved in the process
  • Able to hit deadlines, targets and KPI's on the buildings that they manage
  • Excellent IT skills particularly in MS Word and Excel
  • Possess strong "attention to detail" skills


  • MRICS is desirable
