Retail Brand Manager - FMCG

My client, a global consumer durable business based in Manchester is now looking to recruit a Retail Brand Manager to join their large marketing team. Applicants must have extensive brand management, retail marketing and customer insight experience preferably within a fmcg/consumer durable sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Working with Marketing Director, to create and own a compelling and ambitious brand vision, outlining innovative growth strategies following recent research insights
Analyse and look at how the brand  is currently positioned in the market and develop targeted consumers insights
Monitor market trends, research consumer markets and competitors activities to identify opportunities and key issues
Translating brand strategies into brand plans, researching brand Licensing, brand positioning and go-to-market strategies to take the brand forward 
Developing brand strategy across the full marketing mix (product, communication, price, brand licensing) 
Manage annual brand budget
Challenge costs and pursue value optimisation opportunities
Develop and execute the brand communication strategy, showing creative judgement
Build strong relationships with teams to ensure consumer propositions are developed with a customer focus and implemented effectively
Drive Commercial Planning content for your brand
Measuring and reporting the performance of all marketing campaigns against goals (ROI and KPIs) is essential
Adhoc brand projects as and when required 

Skills Required:
Educated to Degree level (Marketing/Business Studies)
Must have extensive brand management, retail marketing, consumer insight experience, ideally working in a Brand Manager/Retail Marketing position, within fmcg/consumer durable sectors (B2C/B2B)
Ideally have a knowledge of retail marketing, consumer insight, trade marketing, category management and brand marketing background
Understanding of the full marketing mix within a B2C environment 
Experience of consumer product marketing & product development
Experience in brand extension / licensing within a b2c/b2b capacity- desirable 
Highly creative with ability to think out of box
Ability to understand key profit & loss data
Travel as and when required to attend national events 
Effective interpersonal and influencing skills
Excellent and proven planning & organising skills
Experience of developing and gaining strong retailer relationships
Able to demonstrate experience of developing brands and understanding consumers
Up-to-date with latest trends and marketing best practices
Comfortable working with numbers, metrics and spreadsheets
Experience of strategic planning and innovation
Experience of the advertising process (print, radio, billboards, e not necessarily TV)
Company Benefits:
Salary up to £40k 
Flexible hours to suit (35 hour week)
Friday 1.30pm finish
