The Resilience Risk Oversight Consultant reports to the Head of Technology Risk. This role is responsible for leading the oversight of the resilience risk including how the organisation can cope with a major incident. You will also take responsibility for facilitating the appetite statements relating to resilience risks.
Develop and maintain the high level Resiliency Risk policy, embedding relevant Group, regulatory and industry good practice requirements.
Manage the defining of the risk appetite (both statements and limits) in relation to resilience
Oversee the resilience capability, including attending Resilience working groups, providing a 2nd opinion on test programmes and determining that Resilience policy requirements are met
Oversee 1st line management of any IT incidents that occur
Lead the thematic oversight of root cause analysis of IT incidents that impact on production and report to senior management on the underlying themes
Input to the development of the crisis management plan and facilitation of crisis management exercises including the development of incident management simulations
Assess the effectiveness of processes and internal controls implemented by the 1st line and infrastructure functions through a programme of sample testing
Provide strategic analysis focused on thought leadership and resiliency risk linked to business strategy and change projects.
Essential for this role is knowledge of resilience (Business Continuity and IT Disaster recovery) risk and controls including strategy, external threats and major incident response, along with a well-developed external network with an established view of what best practice looks like. You’ll understand key risk technologies, risk frameworks and their oversight, along with major project delivery methods. And ideally you will have a good understanding of Prudential and our products, the life & pensions industry along with our regulatory landscape.
You will be experienced in analysing and interpreting complex rules and regulations, applying such knowledge to provide solutions to business problems and issues and be able to communicate the practical impact of regulatory obligations. You will have guided the response to major incidents in the past and have experienced all elements of business continuity planning. You will have experience of facilitating senior management agreement, and have delivered deep dive reviews and control assessments and you will also have authored and delivered papers to Risk Committees and senior management teams, and be used to challenging the business’s resilience strategy and implementation direction
