Are you experienced in working with children and young people with SEN and SEMH and supporting them in overcoming various social barriers?
Principal Resourcing are looking for multiple Residential Support Workers who are passionate about working with children and young people with a range of needs. These include Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and on occasions can possess challenging behaviour. You will be required to support the children in their residential home and ensure they have all the relevant amenities. We currently have 4 positions available across 2 sits in and near Cottingham and the hours are based on 10-hour shifts working 4 on 4 off (Days and Nights available). Starting salary is between £15,350 and £17,000 rising to between £16,000 and £17,500 after probation with further progression opportunities.
- Experience providing support to young people with additional needs
- Hold at least 6 months previous experience
- Strong communication skills
- Able to work independently and show initiative when required
- Willingness to encourage and take part in activities with the children
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Able to understand and maintain confidentiality
- Willingness to learn the tasks of the role
- Patient and non-judgemental approach
- Commitment to equal opportunities for disabled people in attitude and in carrying out the tasks of the job
- Experience of challenging situations would be an advantage
