Salary: £22,572.16- £23,920

About the home
Southview is a beautiful 4 Bed Residential Home, surrounded by scenic countryside. We have a family environment and are looking for a number of Support workers to join our small team, in order to make a difference to the lives of young people with mental health needs. These children or young people may all have emotional and behavioural disorders.

About the role and ideal candidate
Southview are recruiting responsible, friendly and caring individuals who may not have any past experience but are interested in starting their health and social care career. If you have past experience and are looking to join a small expanding team, which will welcome your ideas and expertise, we would also love to hear from you.
We are looking for people who are flexible and have a passion for caring for and ultimately, making a difference to young people’s lives. The shifts may include night, morning and afternoon shifts. However, if you can be flexible, we will return the favour.

During your shift, you will attend to the needs of our young people, complete paperwork and have the potential to become key worker. You will be responsible for safeguarding and ensuring all residence are all safe, comfortable and healthy. You may help with any educational needs, cooking, cleaning and entertaining the young people.
Other duties include assisting with outings, liaising with other staff, working to agreed care plans and keeping the homes clean.
It will be a challenging yet rewarding role with the opportunity to see the young people grow and develop over time. We need someone who can work well within a team, has great communication skills, can manage their workload and be prepared for the varying difficulties the role may present.

You must also be prepared to work towards a fully funded NVQ 3 in Health and social care.

Key responsibilities
  • Safeguard all young people within the home and support them with their individual needs
  • Support and develop the mental and physical health and wellbeing of individuals within the home
  • Help integrate the young people into the community
  • Help improve the standard of living and confidence of each young person
  • Integrate into the supportive team
  • Liaise with other staff with the best interests of the young people in mind
  • Complete reports and medication files.

Other information
The salary is made up of working 48 hours per week, £8.21- £8.75ph and an average of one sleep in per week (£40).
