Residential Support Worker

My client who specialise in supporting young people with learning disabilities within a residential setting, are looking for a number of experienced support staff to assist the young people with their day to day routine. You will be assisting and teaching them life skills, supporting them during social activities encouraging them to fully participate in society.

Responsibilities and Duties

Duties will include:

Providing personal care upon request

Administering medication

Support during social activities

Support during family visits

Support during medical appointments

Updating and following care plans

The candidates may present challenging behaviour so you must be able to remain calm and have the appropriate skills to deescalate the situation.

Qualifications and Skills

You must have experience working with young people within a residential setting.

You must hold all of your mandatory training or be willing to complete this.

You will ideally have intervention training these may include MAPA, Proacscipetc

You must have a DBS registered on the update service or be willing to undergo and enhanced disclosure prior to commencement of work
