A temporary to permanent opportunity for a Children's Residential Support Worker

Your new company

You will be working for a social enterprise offering clinically informed practice to children who have suffered from trauma in their lives. Their approach sets them apart from standard residential child care providers in that it is clinically informed in every aspect of the child's experience with the aim of helping traumatised children achieve recovery and psychological well being

Your new role

You will be responsible for ensuring a high standard of care for the children while offering support to employees. You'll work closely with Senior Support Workers/Therapeutic Parents and management to ensure the running of the home is to a high standard and by being a committed and consistent adult role model, develop the children through the provision of a therapeutic home. Duties include assisting with homework, ensuring all household log books are kept up to date, following the children's care plans and risk assessments and ensuring all accidents are recorded immediately.

What you'll need to succeed

You will need to possess a sound knowledge of current legislation relating to children in care and residential settings. You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's workforce (or equivalent)

You will have the ability to build trust with the children and encourage their emotional, physical and social needs. You'll need to manage the children's' inner anxieties and feelings taking in to account sexuality, religion, etc You'll be self-committed to your continual development and have a full, clean UK driving licence and ideally access to your own car.
