Residential Support Worker Adults with Autism, Learning Disabilities and Physical Disabilities

Location: Ross-On-Wye

Position: Day Support Worker

Salary £8.10ph

Contract: Full Time 37.5 hours

Shift Patterns: Earlies and Lates and Long days between 07:00-22:00

I am recruiting for one of my clients based in the Ross on Wye area. Supporting clients with profound learning difficulties, Autism and challenging behaviour within a secluded area surrounded by acres of land which boasts of a sensory garden and trim trail. This is an 12 bedded residential unit supporting clients within their own flats.

This is the perfect full time, permanent opportunity paying £8.10/40 per hour. With an extensive training package on offer and competitive salary, people with no experience looking to pursue a new career within health and social care will be considered.

Responsibilities Include:

• Contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting learning, independence and experiences.
• Manage the well being and behaviours ensuring significant behavioural or physical occurrences are address and managed accordingly
• Assisting with the completion of care plans, risk assessments, incident reports and daily reports
• Supporting clients with morning and evening routines including personal care, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene and feeding
• Supporting clients with challenging behaviour and adopting de-escaltion techniques
• Supporting client s with in house and external activities
• Supporting and training new staff members
• Handling of petty cash and supporting client s to manage personal budgets
• Promote strong communication with both clients and staff team to ensure handover are accurate and factual
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, family and external healthcare professionals
• Adhering to company policies and procedures

Person Specification:

• A caring, empathetic and sympathetic nature who enjoys supporting others
• A desire to ant to develop within their position and to work towards National Diploma Level 2 in Health and Social Care
• Due to the location of the business and unsocial working hours all applicants must have access to their own transport and hold a full driving licence
• All applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory referencing
