+ Outstanding benefits package

As a Peripatetic Residential Support Worker, you’ll have a challenging but fulfilling job. Working with vulnerable young people in several of our children’s homes, you’ll provide them with personalised care and create a calm, safe living environment. This is a pivotal role, covering shifts across different homes, to ensure we are always able to offer the best possible support to our children and young people and most importantly creating a home for them!

Experience isn’t essential, but is desirable. You must have the ability to build a rapport with young people. In many cases, our residents’ behaviour can be difficult or challenging. That means you’ve got to be very patient, calm and resilient. Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) is preferable. If you don’t have the Diploma, you will be expected to complete this within 2 years of commencing employment. In the meantime, we’ll give you outstanding training to help you do your best. In return you’ll need to be happy to work flexible hours, including some sleep-in duties and to have a full driving licence.

The main home you will be based at is in Chorley and provides a welcoming living experience with a warm and friendly domestic setting. The home is an integrated site with one of our outstanding schools, which all young people attend.

For children and young people with complex, challenging needs, the level of care and education must go above and beyond. That’s what drives us, here at Witherslack Group. With our high staff-to-child ratio and in-house clinical teams, our children’s homes have a reputation for excellence. Through our inspirational homes, schools and ethos, we’ve achieved the highest possible outcomes. In short, we’re enhancing life opportunities.

Location - This role is a peripatetic role covering Chorley, Leigh and Wrightingon (Near Wigan).
