Residential Support Worker - Durham

We are looking for someone to join our team who is confident, professional and hardworking. The role can be very demanding but candidates will need to be proactive in supporting young people to achieve good outcomes. The home is a three bedded home that can provide short, medium & long term care for three young people aged 8–18 years.
The home is located in the village of West Rainton. It is a semi-rural area roughly four miles North East of the city of Durham. The home is located on a public transport link providing direct links via trains and buses to both Durham and Sunderland City centers.
The young people residing in the property may have experienced serious behavioural, emotional and social difficulties that require high levels of support in a small, structured environment.

Requirements
RCW
Must be over 21 or over
Driving licence
Level 3 Health and Social Care preferred but not essential
Experience working with young people would be advantageous.

Duties
No day is the same but you will:-

- Provide support and care to each individual
- Provide encouragement when getting ready for education
- Travel with the residents (Use of Company Car)
- Complete care planning
- Complete Task Sheets
- Complete Meal Preparation
- Organise and facilitate social activities
- Maintain the home (cleaning, laundry and shopping etc.)
- Maintain home management
- Liaise with external stakeholders and our own multi-disciplinary team

Salary ranges
RCW
Inexperienced staff = £7.65 p/h
Post probation = £7.80 p/h
Qualified = £8.30 p/h
Sleep In rate £20.00 (subject to review)

Shift pattern – Typical 2-week Rota
Monday – 10.00 am – 10.30 am (includes sleep)
Tuesday – Day Off
Wednesday – Day Off
Thursday – 10.00 am – 10.30 am (includes sleep)
Friday – Day Off
Saturday – Day Off
Sunday – Day Off
Monday – Day off
Tuesday – 10.00 am – 10.30 am (includes sleep)
Wednesday - Day Off
Thursday – Day off
Friday – 10.00 am – 10.30 am (includes sleep)
Saturday – Day Off
Sunday – Day off

- This is an example of a 2-week Rota and will not be the actual Rota given to yourself. All staff have different Rota’s.
- You will be given your rota weeks in advance according to the service as the young people may have medicals or school meetings to attend.
