Residential Childcare Worker - Nottingham

Posted 24 January by Acorn Care And Education Limited Featured Ended
Since 2000 at Pathway Care, we’ve been delivering high quality, child-focused residential care placements for young people from the age of eight upwards within 19 homes across the UK. Small steps make a huge difference and through Residential Care, Aftercare and Shared Care Services we come alongside young people to work with them day-by-day, to help them achieve their potential. We care about providing the children entrusted into our care with better days today that lead to better lives tomorrow and into the future.

About the role

Due to continued growth, we have opportunities for Residential Childcare Workers to join our team in the Nottingham area, including Arnold, Mapperley, Sherwood and Top Valley homes. These homes care for either young people with Learning Disabilities or young people with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties.

As a Residential Childcare Worker, you will help ensure the physical, emotional and identified personal care needs of children and young people are met through the provision of a supportive and caring environment. You will also work with young people and others to assess needs and to work jointly in the preparation, implementation and delivery of care plans, maintaining the development of positive child care practice, in keeping with the aims and objectives of Pathway Care Residential.

From the most basic hygiene and daily chores through to more challenging life skills such as shopping and financial management, our Residential Childcare Workers provide support and development to the young people in our care, helping to meet their objectives and improve their access to the wider community.

We help them with personal development, meals, medication, education and all other day-to-day activities and we make sure that the home is clean, tidy, warm and inviting, fulfilling the needs of children, young people and families regardless of disability, racial/cultural origin or gender.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking to speak to enthusiastic, reliable and flexible people with excellent communication skills and a passion for caring for young people. Diploma Level 3 in Residential Childcare would be great, but we would love to hear from you if you have a genuine interest in the welfare, care and development of children and young people with emotional behavioural difficulties and are willing to work towards the qualification.

We provide ongoing training opportunities for our team members to ensure that the successful candidate feels confident and competent to work with our young people.

Our homes offer care 24/7 so you will need to work on a shift basis of 40 hours per week on a shift basis, including, days, nights, evenings and weekends.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to someone’s life whilst developing your career in a business that can offer support, training and progression.

Acorn Care and Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children and young people in our care. Successful applicants will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
