Research Scientist - Automation

Kelly Scientific are working with a leading biotechnology organisation based in the Cambridgeshire area who are looking for a Research Scientist - Automation to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the process optimisation and development of the company's automated equipment. This company are a preferred supplier for antibody discovery and libraries based on their bespoke DNA synthesis and selection methods, they strive to provide products of the highest quality so that their clients can be successful in drug development. 

Further Responsibilities:
- Engage with external vendors to maintain and upgrade existing systems as needed; testing and implementing new systems
- Developing, optimising and automating processes and to act as a point of contact for all trained users 
- Understand the needs and processes of the other Scientists and communicate solutions effectively 

- BSc degree or higher in biological sciences or engineering discipline
- At least 2 years industry experience working with automated laboratory equipment and liquid handling automation 
- Technical knowledge of drug/biological discovery processes and liquid handling procedures relevant to a molecular biology laboratory
- General knowledge of display technologies and DNA library synthesis techniques 
- Strong IT capabilities - database design and programming would be highly desirable
