The Engineering and Physical Research Council (EPSRC) is a partner organisation within UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). EPSRC is the main UK government agency for funding research and training in engineering and the physical sciences, investing over £850 million a year in a broad range of subjects from mathematics to materials science and from information technology to structural engineering.
About the role
This post will work within the UK Research & Innovation Research Outcome Support Team (ROST) as part of UK Research & Innovation Funding Services Team.
The Research Councils (RCUK) that form part of the UK Research & Innovation organisation have a responsibility to demonstrate the value and impact of research supported through public funding.
RCUK uses information that researchers provide on the outputs, outcomes and impact (referred to as 'outcomes’) of their Research Council funded projects to report to and engage with, both the Government and the public.
The purpose of the role is to complete and develop a number of reporting tasks, including compliance statistics, analysis reports and bulk mail outs. To ensure that the data quality within Researchfish® is to a high standard, to support the change process for Researchfish data on the Gateway to Research (GtR) website and for UKRI reporting. To manage the script management process, identifying any data issues or script changes required. To manage the technical incident process. To document any new processes or changes. To represent the team in meetings including the UKRI Management Information Team and Researchfish Reporting Sub Group. To provide support when needed of the Support Analysts within the team.
There are a number of systems and associated information to enable the Analysts to carry out their role. Instruction will be provided as part on induction, classroom, or on the job training.
It is essential that you have A level or above qualification or relevant experience.
Experience of data management covering collection, extraction and cleaning data for analysis is required, along with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
You must have knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, including writing and testing SQL Code.
You will have a proactive approach, including the ability to provide solutions to improve current working practices.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment is essential within this role.
