As Research and Development Engineer, you develop our next generation of outstanding products whilst constantly improving our understanding of customer demands. Assessing and exploring novel concepts or methods for the production, modification or assembly of advanced, high-performance cemented carbides. You will be standardising, rationalising and instilling best practices in our current production technologies with a focus on powder pressing, compaction and consolidation methods such as multi axial pressing and extrusion. You will analyse material properties with respect to micro-structure, crystallography, material chemistry and processing route. With feedback from our customers you are able to draw conclusions on how to continuously improve our products and translate and simplify a complex matter into actions that ensure development of appropriate solutions. You act as test leader in the laboratory environment as well as in the field. You will explore novel concepts, approaches or insights for advanced processing technologies and seek effective routes to their implementation. You will work in an international team and liaise with manufacturing, suppliers and customers on technical issues, whilst supporting the subsequent scale-up and industrialisation of processes in close collaboration with application engineers and local engineering personnel.
