Reporting Manager

Job Purpose

This is a varied and challenging role which provides huge scope for progression and exposure across the business. Outside of monthly processes there are significant opportunity work with the commercial team as well as to influence and steer the course of the role and the processes within the wider Finance Team and senior stakeholders. Candidates with a natural aptitude for process refinement, troubleshooting and systems improvement would be of particular interest to us. Experience in managing an owning timely and accurate reports, able to articulate the wider group performance as well as explain any variance in the budget or the forecasts. This person will also oversee and management of period end including the consolidation of all UK and International companies.

Key Accountability/Responsibilities

  • Fully understand system procedures required to deliver management accounts and proactively manage impact of business changes on reporting.
  • Develop MI and processes to reflect business change and new requirements.
  • Support monthly board and executive committee reports and collate information from finance stakeholders.

Balance Sheets

  • Own Group balance sheet and all related processes and reporting, ensuring all key balance sheets are reconciled on a timely basis and variances to expectations are understood with appropriate actions in place
  • Update monthly balance sheet risks & opportunities tracker understanding drivers behind each one
  • Reconcile and review owned balance sheet accounts.

Statutory accounting:

  • Support delivery of statutory accounts in line with internal and external timetable.
  • Reconcile and understand differences in statutory and management accounts.
  • Draft audit papers for half year and year end reporting

Other

  • Own the quality of earnings tracker
  • Own designated P&L lines and prepare budget and forecast for those lines, inc. Share based payments, Pensions, Bonus, Goodwill
  • Other ad-hoc work and projects as directed by the business

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
