Rents Litigation Officer

An excellent opportunity has been made available by my client in Bristol, an established housing provider.

My client is looking for a Rents Litigation Officer on a initial Four Month contract with Full Time Hours (37) however my client would also consider candidates looking for a 30 hour contract.

The hourly rate of pay is as follows:

£13.45 Per Hour on PAYE (plus Holiday Pay Or £17.13 Per Hour on Umbrella.

The key focal aspect of your role will be to assist in the provision of a litigation service to Neighbourhood and Housing Services teams, issuing proceedings in respect of tenants in rent arrears, representing N&HS at court.

At the same time, providing the appropriate support to enable the overall objectives of the team to be met in an effective and professional manner.

As a Rents Litigation Officer, under the general guidance of a Senior officer, you will need to establish which cases referred are appropriate for the commencement of legal proceedings.

You will need to establish which cases referred are appropriate for the issuing of warrants of eviction.

Part of your role will be to prepare all legal documents to ensure that action taken complies with current and relevant legislation and dealing with the subsequent administration in respect of court hearings.

You will be tasked with preparing rent arrears cases for hearing representing Neighbourhood and Housing Services in chambers before the District Judge.

You will be required to respond to enquiries from, and giving legal advice to, housing officers regarding the progress of cases and compliance with orders, maintaining a close working relationship with officers.

Furthermore, you will be liaising with officers of the court, solicitors, and interviewing tenants and/ or their representatives prior to a hearing before the District Judge.
