Rental Manager

Overall Responsibility:

To manage all resources, both internally and those externally applicable to ensure the Rental Division operates efficiently and effectively, taking responsibility for the commercial success, profitability, and opportunities available for rental.

Key Tasks:

  • Ensure Client expectations are met and exceeded
  • Deliver profitable rental income streams
  • Create and maintain a team-focused environment
  • Assist in the development of control systems to manage the fleet
  • Ensure maximum utilisation of the fleet from active review of all existing and new rental opportunities
  • Improve profit per day retention on cross hire activity
  • Ensure all rechargeable elements are processed accurately, efficiently and promptly
  • Set up controls to authorise and minimise loss-making reservations
  • Work with all key internal personnel as required in order to provide a seamless client-responsive functional unit
  • Build close relationships with key personnel - attend client review meetings as appropriate.
  • Develop and motivate all members of the Rental team
  • Manage resources to meet all deadlines
  • Review, challenge and update procedures and processes as necessary
  • Develop web booking system potential to reduce administrative tasks and maximise efficiency
  • Training and monitoring to ensure reservations set up and managed correctly
  • Build working relationships with suppliers & key strategic outsource partners
  • Ensure all rental costs are validated and properly accounted for in a timely manner
  • Manage rental systems to ensure all income and costs are fully processed
  • Timely and accurate production of management information
  • Control client account set-up on the rental platform
  • Control recording of supplier tariffs onto the Rental platform accurately and on a timely basis
  • Ensure housekeeping on fleet e.g. mileage checks are routinely undertaken
  • Ordering of additional and replacement units for the fleet
  • Arbitration, authorisation & recharging of de-fleet estimates
  • Timely resolution of disputes with both clients and suppliers
