Relief Support Worker - Hertford

Role Description

Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?

We are looking for a positive, fun and caring Relief Support Workers to work within our Hertford service where we support 8 gentlemen and 1 lady with a learning disability.

Working in Hertford you will be based permanently in one of two services.

In one of these services we support 3 gentlemen who are fairly independent, these chaps love going to the pub, and going out into the community and this time of year they love a trip to Winter Wonderland! The gentlemen that we support in this service are fairly older so they like to be supported with their independent living skills, finance and medication.

In our second service we support 5 gentlemen and 1 lady - can you guess who the boss of this service is?! The people that we support in this service attend day centres and love going for trips to the cinema, lunching out and we hope you can spot a good bargain because they love shopping too!

We put the people who we support at the heart of what we do. We make sure that everyone is as equally involved with the recruitment process as our very own recruitment team. If you look at the pink box titled "additional information" you'll see some information about some of the people that we support.

This role has a unique set of challenges,but our award winning training will ensure that you are the best Support Worker that you can be, whether you have lots experience or are just starting out in your career.

As a relief support worker you will have the flexibility to work the hours to suit, however a degree of flexibility will be required as the service provides support 24 hours a day.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
