Relief Support Worker- Haywards Heath

Thanks to the on going success of our service we are looking for a confident, dynamic and supportive individuals to join our Relief Bank as dedicated Relief Support Workers, at our Haywards Heath service. Our Haywards Heath service consists of supported living services for seven people whom have profound and multiple learning disabilities, sensory impairment and physical disabilities. The people here require all round care, which requires a dedicated approach to person centered support - something we are passionate about here at Mencap.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will be helping these lovely people in their daily routines, with activities like; shopping, cooking, eating and drinking, laundry, finances, medication and administration. You will also be involved in encouraging positive behaviour routines; using a dynamic approach to enable the people we support to communicate through alternative tools and methods; and providing support with personal care.

Hobbies are a huge part of the lives of the people we support and you will be required to assist the people we support during a number of activities. You will support them in organising activities and accessing the community, to socialise and for leisure. There are a wide variety of different personalities,so you can expect no two days to be the same!

Shifts are rota based and will be spread across morning, afternoons and evenings,sleep-ins and waking nights shifts will also be available. Flexibility is essential as all our shifts will be spread across the weekdays and weekends. We are really looking for individuals who are patient and adaptable, with a real "Can-do" attitude.

Being a support worker isn't just about making the day to day life easier, it's about improving the lives of these lovely individuals, so they can live the life that they choose and certainly deserve. Helping the people we support achieve their goals is one of the most rewarding parts of being a support worker and we will support you with award winning training throughout your career with us.

Driving licence preferred but not essential.
