I am recruiting for 2 x Relief Residential Care Practitioner’s for my client’s service in Stevenage which supports Children with Emotional and Behavioural Disorder. My client, a well-known national provider, is looking to expand their support team in line with the needs of those they support. This role would suit someone who is looking for a fantastic work life balance as the role demands 2 long days on followed by 4 days off. It will also involve some sleep ins which incur an additional £60 flat rate.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly outcome and quality focused team with an established leadership team in place. My client is looking for experienced candidates who are available for an immediate start. Both roles are an initial 2-month fixed term contract but there is the potential that these roles could become permanent.

Key Responsibilities of a Relief Residential Care Practitioner:

  • To provide a supportive and nurturing delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • To lead by example and maintain good professional practices in accordance with the minimum standards for children’s homes.
  • To be held accountable for the safety and wellbeing of our young people, whilst on shift with them.
  • To help create a supportive and positive environment for each young person with particular reference to his or her safety, health and education.
  • To act as a surrogate parent with professional boundaries.
Relief Residential Care Practitioner Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience of working in a care capacity
  • Preferably experience of supporting children and young people with EBD
  • Emotional resilience
  • Experience working in a Residential Children’s Home
  • Preferably NVQ Level Children and Young People’s Workforce
  • Passion to help nurture young people
  • Due to the nature of this role you must be 21+ to apply
  • Be able to work shift patterns including sleep ins

  • Our shift patterns ensure you get up to four days off in a row regularly without taking holiday
