Relief Female Care & Support Worker - Retirement Living Scheme
We are recruiting a Relief Care & Support Workerto work on a zero hour contract as part of our Retirement Living Service. There are a range of shifts for staff. Hours of working are between 7am and 10.15pm, including working some weekends and evenings.
There is a genuine occupational reason under the sex discrimination act 1974, that we require female carers for this role.
The salary for this position is £10.15 per hour if you have QCF2/NVQ2 or £9.69 per hour if you are working towards or willing to work towards your qualification.
We offer a 6-week induction training programme, which will enable new staff to understand how we work with tenants and provide a culturally appropriate service. There are opportunities to progress your career in care and support, alongside promotional opportunities with a fantastic induction and training and development programme.
We are looking for individuals who are responsible and who are interested in getting to know the people they work with. It is important that the successful candidates have a strong sense of initiative, as you will need to report any concerns or changes on your service user’s health and wellbeing, to your manager. You are supported by team leaders who provide you with on the spot local support when providing care and support to people. There are good career prospects within the team with opportunities to progress to manager level.
We are opening several new Retirement Living schemes over the next few years, and will be looking to identify individuals with talent to manage the new schemes. You will be provided with a smartphone as part of your job, to enable you to communicate as a wider team during your working hours.
The independent living scheme is situated in a wider campus which has its own security, and there are never less than two people working on site at any given time. It is essential that you have previous care experience (this can be through employment or life experience, that you are practical are able to record notes about a client and able to use phone. You will be working in a great team of like-minded colleagues. There are plenty of opportunities for you to develop in terms of training and development and experience of working in an interesting and exciting environment. Your development will also include regular supervision and team meetings where you can contribute by providing ideas to improve the service and get the benefit of seeing how your involvement has improved lives.

Hours of work - A variety of day and evening work is available; all applicants are required to work alternate weekends, which may involve working am and pm, or one day every weekend. There will also be additional hours available for holiday and sickness cover.
